A Bridgeport man is facing charges Saturday after Westport police say he hit his daughter with a belt.
Investigators say Vincent Caphanac, 28, forced his way into the child's grandmother's home in Westport because he was upset with her due to behavioral problems. They say he then proceeded to attack her.
Officials say the Connecticut Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
The victim is staying with her grandmother, who is her legal guardian.
