A Newtown man is being hailed as a hero today for what he did to help six children who escaped from Friday's mass shooting.

Gene Rosen, who lives just a mile away from Sandy Hook Elementary School, brought the children inside his home minutes after they left the school. He said he heard the gunshots and then, minutes later, saw the children sitting on his driveway.

Rosen says the kids who came to his home had left the classroom of Victoria Soto, 27, who died trying to save her class. Rosen says he gave the children juice and stuffed animals that belonged to his grandchildren until their parents picked them up.
