Police say they were responding to reports of gunshots Saturday evening shortly after 9 p.m. when they found a man struck by gunfire.

They say the 30-year-old male was located walking on Honeyspot Road with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the detained several persons of interest at a motor vehicle stop near the shooting, but the victim is refusing to cooperate.

No firearms were located and no word on whether any charges have been filed.
