Officials say a mechanic survived being struck by a car while he was making repairs at a car dealership Thursday in Stamford.
Police say the man was fixing dents on one the of cars at Bianco Motors North on Smith Street.
They say a neighbor then got into his own car and mistakenly drove it in reverse through a fence and into the mechanic.
The owner of the dealership says the mechanic barely survived.
Police say the victim was taken to Stamford Hospital and is expected to be OK.
They say the car he was working on, however, is probably totaled.
The driver was issued a ticket for unsafe backing, which carries a $132 fine.
