The Manhattan College Jaspers baseball team beat Rider University Sunday to capture its 17th-straight MAAC win.
Both teams were scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Jasper Rene Ruiz drove the ball down the leftfield line, allowing Nunzio Franzese to come in and score.
Manhattan's Matt Rizzotti added to the 1-0 lead with a two-run homer. Jasper Tom Costigan pitched for 6.1 innings, giving up nine hits and making four earned runs with five strikeouts.
The Jaspers held on to win 8-7.
