A Milford business is doing its part to help a starving food pantry during these tough economic times.
The ME Boutique has launched a new initiative aimed at boosting inventory for the Cornerstone Christian Center. With demand up and donations down, the ME Boutique is calling on its customers to bring in bags of food in exchange for a discount.
"If you print out a coupon and bring in a bag of groceries in a ME Boutique bag or any shopping bag you can get 20 percent off of your purchase," says Michelle Merchant of ME Boutique.
Merchant says with the struggling economy and the holidays, the company felt it would be a good thing to help customers and others.
A pastor at the food pantry says it is great to have a business step in and offer support. "To have an owner realizing they can be a catalyst to providing much more food to those in need, I thought it was a brilliant idea and very creative as well," says Pastor Alfred Watts of the Cornerstone Christian Center.
ME Boutique will be accepting donations and offering a discount throughout the holiday season.
