Milford and Norwalk have cancelled their Oyster Festivals this year do to the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers announced.
Even as businesses and restaurants begin to open, it's obvious COVID-19 will still have a devastating effect on summertime traditions in Connecticut, and festivals are among the first to announce their cancellations.
Both the Milford and Norwalk Oyster festivals weren't scheduled until August and September, but with deposits and other commitments coming due, event planners for both say they just can't take the chance with everyone's health.
Stamford officials announced the summertime concerts at Columbus Park on Wednesday and Thursday nights have also been called off for the season including Alive @ Five which has also been postponed.
