(04/29/08) MILFORD (AP) - The fatal accident that killed three Milford teenagers in February is the inspiration behind a new program in the school system to improve driving skills of teenagers. Superintendent of Schools Harvey Polansky says nothing can undo the pain of the fatal accident, but it pushed him to look for something that might help the students, especially when it comes to improving their driving skills. The Connecticut Children's Medical Center and the Allstate Foundation have made a $25,000 grant available to the school system to provide students a 12-lesson, computer-based, virtual driver training simulator. Polansky says he hopes the driving simulator will help change student behavior when they are driving.
