Money Matters: HUD awards $36.4M to preserve public housing in CT
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded more than $36 million to more than 30 Connecticut Public Housing Authorities for property improvements.
Bridgeport received more than $6 million, followed by New Haven with $4 million, and Hartford and Norwalk with $3 million.
The funding is part of $2.7 billion awarded nationally.
The New York Post says 719 employees will lose their jobs when the flagship store closes at Madison Avenue in new York. Also closing - its Chelsea store and its outlet at Woodbury Common in Central Valley, New York.
Saks Fifth Avenue is reportedly planning to open Barneys boutiques within its own department stores nationwide in September.
Online retailer Wayfair annoucned it is cutting 550 jobs.
The Boston-based retailer was the city's fastest-growing technology company, but now the CEO says it was growing too quickly.
Wayfair has dealt with higher costs on importing items from China.
