More than 550 Eversource customers in Stamford were listed on the company's website as being without power early Tuesday morning after a large tree came down on Valley Road, shortly before it turns into Highland Road.

Multiple wires were seen down on the street, as the outage stretched around several blocks of the Glenbrook neighborhood, with workers saying several transformers were blown a little before 4 a.m.

According to the Eversource website, the hope was to have at least some of the power back on by noon.
