A Stratford woman tells News 12 that she found what appeared to be glass shards in a container of Huggies wipes she purchased for her 5-month-old son.
After learning a fellow mom found pieces of glass in a Huggies baby wipe while watching a video posted on a social media website, Adrianne Abrahams says she did some investigating herself. She claims that she also found what appeared to be pieces of glass in Huggies wipes she had purchased from a different store.
The mother of two says her 5-month-old son Jackson developed a rash after she had used the wipes on him.
According to Huggies' Facebook page, Abrahams is among dozens of concerned parents across the country claiming to find glass shards in the company's wipes.
The company addressed concern with a statement that says, "As some of you may have heard, a concern about our wipes was raised recently on Facebook. We take any concerns about our products very seriously and we are working directly with this parent to learn more about what happened and how we can help. Nothing is more important than the safety of the little ones who use our products "
"Families put their trust in Huggies wipes every day, and all of our Huggies products have been thoroughly evaluated to ensure they are safe. In addition, we have stringent quality controls in place, and no glass is used during the manufacture of our wipes. As parents ourselves, we know you may have additional questions or concerns.
