Norwalk may be thousands of miles away from Hollywood but, this week, one part of town has been transformed into a movie set.
Crews started setting up on Wall Street last week, then Monday it was lights, camera, action for "The Good Nurse."
Norwalk was chosen after a location scout approached local realtor Bob Virgulak.
"I said, 'I have a great place for you, you have to see it.' The scout came right out and she said, 'Wow this is incredible, let's get the art department.' Then it was production, directors. They loved the space," he says.
"The Good Nurse" is based on the true story of prolific serial killer Charles Cullen. It stars Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.
"They're using one large office space but what they liked about it was the different hallways - the hallways and bathrooms. It looked like it fit that era, I guess maybe mid-early 90s," says Virgulak.
The movie spent the past several weeks shooting around Stamford, including at Bedford Street Diner. Owner David Agostino turned over his business for two days.
"It was very exciting - how much work goes into it was amazing. It was two actresses exchanging five minutes of dialogue and they just did it over and over and over," he says.
Agostino says Netflix paid well and everyone was great to work with. His cook even ended up making a cameo in a scene.
Back in Norwalk, Cafe Aroma's owner has had a front row seat to the action.
"Well I've seen a lot of beautiful people walking by, the cast, the crew," says owner Paul Theodoridis.
He's benefited financially from their presence, too.
"They've improved my business like 30%," says Theodoridis.
Virgulak says Norwalk has needed something like this for a long time, especially in that area.
"Everybody's really happy to see the buzz that's going on down here, it's been a lot of fun," he says.
Friday was the final day of shooting in Norwalk. There is no word yet on a release date for "The Good Nurse."
