An 18-year-old New Canaan man was charged Friday with allegedly stabbing his friend, police say.
The suspect, Jonathan Pluff, was at the victim?s house on Carter Street Thursday night when he snapped and plunged a knife into her neck, according to her sister. Police say the victim's mother called 911 just before 8 p.m.
The victim, whose name was not released, reportedly sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.
According to authorities, the circumstances of the stabbing remain unclear, but they do know that some altercation played a part in the incident.
Prosecutors say Pluff, who has a history of mental illness and substance abuse, faces other serious charges, including possession of child pornography in the first and second degrees.
Pluff is being held on $250,000 bond. He is expected to be back in a Stamford court, where the other charges he faces are currently pending, on August 8.
