State and local officials were in Weston for the official opening of the new Cobb's Mill Bridge on Route 57.
Officials toured the area of the new bridge that crosses the Saugatuck River at the intersection of Routes 57 and 53 yesterday.
They say the project was the first of its kind to use a new bridge replacement method that accelerates construction and reduces costs.
Connecticut Transportation Commissioner James Redeker says the new techniques used on this bridge helped get it done in just 16 weeks.
