Three days a week, 1-year-old Nora Turner is taken to Yale's Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven for chemotherapy for a rare cancer in her eyes.
Doctors say only about 300 U.S. children a year are diagnosed with the cancer, called retinoblastoma.
The doctors credit the VEP vision test with discovering the cancer. They say that without the test, the cancer could have spread throughout her body for years before being discovered.
Nora's cancer was the first that the doctors discovered using the test, which was implemented four years ago.
