New Haven will soon be home to New England's first school named after President Barack Obama.
A groundbreaking is planned for the Barack H. Obama Magnet University School on Thursday.
The K-4 school will be located on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University.
The school board president said he originally wanted to name a bridge after Obama but felt a school would be a better tribute.
