A new law will ensure residents are aware of any construction projects taking place in their neighborhood before they make their commute.
The bill, introduced by City Councilman Jimmy Vacca, will notify residents of any parking changes, street closures and electricity service changes a full 72 hours ahead of time.
Vacca says that far too often, residents wake up or come home to a lack of hot water or modified parking rules without their knowledge. He says he believes residents and business owners deserve more notice regarding these types of changes.
Vacca says the city's Department of Design and Construction is on board with the legislation, putting it into effect immediately.
