The popular New York City Halloween parade has been canceled.
Every year, more than 50,000 pack 6th Avenue in their festive costumes for The Village Halloween parade.
This would have been its 47th year.
The New York Post reports disappointed fans may receive some sort of a consolation gift.
The board made the decision last month and will make an official announcement Monday.
