The New York City Opera singers are warming up in
preparation to entertain audiences at the Sacred Heart University Community
Theater.
It portrays a moment in World War I when troops dropped their
weapons to celebrate the holiday through song.
The hope is that this show, that combines classical singing theater and
holiday music, will inspire the next generation of opera fans.
"It's historical, but it's lighthearted at moments, it's tender at
other moments, and it's something children can absorb in a time frame of a
little more than an hour and they won't be bored," said Michael Capasso,
from the New York City Opera.
The show opens Wednesday night.
