Young, newly elected representatives headed to the state Capitol Tuesday for the new legislator orientation.
"It feels a little bit like freshman orientation," says Rep.-elect Will Haskell, who was 22 years old when he was elected.
Rep.-elect Raghib Allie-Brennan of Bethel says college was only five years ago for him.
"But I just think it shows that we've got a lot of new voices at the table," he says.
Connecticut will also have a new governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and state treasurer.
When elected officials first start in office, they will have to deal with a $2 million budget hole, highway tolls and medical marijuana.
Lawmakers will be heading back to work on Jan. 9, the same day Ned Lamont will be sworn-in as governor.
