One of News 12’s own was honored by a local non-profit for his years of service to the Bridgeport community.
The Building Hope Foundation presented its annual Steven Berko Community Service Award to Frank Recchia over the weekend at the group's dinner in Darien.
Recchia, who hosted the event, presented awards to members of the builders' group, whose mission is to give wheelchair ramps and other assistance to people in need.
"The Steven Berko Award couldn't go to someone more deserving than Frank Recchia, who uses the great resources of News 12 to highlight some of the good that people do," says Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

Sen. Blumenthal honored Andrew LaSala and Mary Boudreau of the Building Hope Foundation for their many contributions to the organization.
News 12 has worked with the foundation to help Bridgeport families get wheelchair ramps for their homes.
