NFL rejects Super Bowl ad from American Veterans
The NFL has rejected a Super Bowl advertisement from American Veterans, urging people to stand for the national anthem.
The AMVET's ad included a two-word message, #PleaseStand, and it was for placement in the Super Bowl program.
The national commander wrote to Commissioner Roger Goodell saying, "It's a simple, polite request that represents the sentiment of our membership, particularly those whose missing or paralyzed limbs preclude standing.”
The NFL defended their decision, noting the publication in the program could be perceived as political.
