A Bronx nonprofit organization provided food and services to those in need this Christmas.
This year was the second that the Regional Aid for Interim Needs, or R.A.I.N., delivered hot meals to the elderly and less fortunate. The group has been helping senior and disabled residents for the past 50 years.
R.A.I.N. President Anderson Torres and volunteers delivered the meals via the R.A.I.N. mobile food truck.
Dozens of recipients lined up at three different delivery locations throughout the borough.
Approximately 400 meals were served, along with hundreds of apple pies. The group hopes to double the number of meals donated next Christmas.
