One of the region's leading veterans support groups is getting a major financial boost from the state.
Gov. Ned Lamont says Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport is receiving a $1.5 million grant to continue its work.
The funding will enable the nonprofit organization to install an elevator and create 12 private rooms.
Homes for the Brave is dedicated to keeping homeless off the streets and transition to the next stage of life.
“We are so blessed and proud and grateful for this moment and we look forward to this project, which should be commencing or being completed by Sept. 30, 2023,” said Vincent Santilli, CEO of Homes for the Brave.
