Local health departments, including the Norwalk Health Department, hosted the "Mental Health in a Post Covid World: How to Ensure Emotional Health and Resilience in our Families, Adolescents, and Teens" forum at the Fairfield Regional Fire School Thursday evening.
Panel speakers included representatives from Positive Directions, Yale New Haven Children's Day Hospital, the Norwalk Housing Authority Learning Center, and the Southwest CT chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
The CDC says mental illnesses are some of the most common health conditions in the U.S.  Local health departments say it is important for them to let the community know what mental health resources are available and to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
Health departments across the region hosted the forum as well.
