Norwalk High School's percussion band returned from Ohio Sunday afternoon and brought home some hardware.
The band arrived with a police escort to family and friends with signs to congratulate them on their second-place win in the Percussion World Championships.
Band Director Chris Rivera says the competition started with nearly 50 schools from across the country.
"It was three long, long days with not a lot of sleep, but they pulled through and did what they had to do," he says.
The band members were each awarded a silver medal and a second-place trophy.
