The Norwalk Police Department is reminding holiday shoppers to be mindful of porch thieves.

“There's been a huge increase in online shopping,” says Lt. Terry Blake. “Alert your carriers or the folks you're shopping with – give them specific instructions. Oftentimes they'll take your packages, put them in garage, put them behind your house, or put them in a secure location at your residence.”

Blake also says police will be able to more quickly track down thieves for those homes that have video surveillance.
