Gloria Blick, a longtime member of the Stamford Commission on Aging, died last weekend just days ahead of her 104th birthday.
Her son, Dr. Gary Blick, an HIV specialist who has a practice in Norwalk, said that he was “heartbroken” but comforted that “mom will live on through her work.”
"Mom's tireless advocacy on behalf of fellow seniors had an immense impact on this state, and upon the countless lives she touched through her activism," he said.
The doctor said he plans to place his mother’s ashes next to those of his father at the HIV clinic he built in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
