Norwalk police deem attack on LGBTQ+ bar owner isolated, non-bias incident

Norwalk police have issued a statement regarding claims they have not acted fast enough following the attack on the owner of one of the city's only LGBTQ+ bars.
The co-owner of the bar and husband of the owner who was attacked posted photos of him in the hospital after he was attacked outside his club late last month.
The social media posts urge supporters to use the city's crime tip app to ask why the suspect has not been charged in what they say was a hate crime.
But police released two separate statements Tuesday saying their investigation shows the attack was an "isolated," non-bias incident involving a patron of the bar who was asked to leave.
They also point out that neither of the bar's owners has met with investigating detectives following the incident.
