Norwalk police said Friday they need the public's help to find the suspect or suspects in a double homicide that took place five years ago.

Norwalk police hope that by calling attention to the five-year anniversary of the deaths of Iroquois Alston and Rickita Smalls they can find the person or people responsible.

Police say the two were shot and killed as they were sitting on Avenue B on August 6, 2011.

They say there is a $50,000 reward for anyone who offers information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people who committed the crime.

They hope to bring closure for the victims' families soon.

Alston's sister Rondraya Barron says the healing process has been an emotional roller coaster.

"We don't ever say rest in peace to him because we don't feel like he could really truly rest and be at peace until we know who did this," says Barron.

Alston's mother tells News 12 Connecticut that she constantly speaks with Smalls' family members. She says they too are relying on each other to get through this year's anniversary.
