Authorities have released footage from an armed carjacking chase that happened earlier this month.
“Definitely not something you see every day in Fairfield," said Sgt. Michael Stahl, of the Fairfield Police Department. “Fortunately, it wasn’t rush hour, but there were still a decent amount of cars on the road."
On the morning of Oct. 3, police say a stolen grey Mazda took off on the Merritt Parkway after striking a Wilton police car.
Dash cam footage shows the car dangerously weaving in and out of traffic, entering a Trumbull maintenance yard, and then reentering the highway in the wrong direction.
Police say the stolen car crashed into another car which had five people inside, but no injuries were reported.
The two Bridgeport suspects, 21-year-old Elijah Holloman and 26- year-old Dominique Adrian Reid, ran away.
Holloman was caught immediately, while Adrian Reid was caught two hours later.
Sgt. Stahl says multiple police departments assisted in the chase.
“That’s something we pride ourselves in this area for," Stahl says. "The collaboration we have with other law enforcement agencies."
Both suspects face multiple charges.
Each were originally held on $100,000 bond.
