A preliminary report by National Transportation Safety Board has revealed new details about the deadly crash that occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome air show last month.
It says the World War I Fokker D-VIII replica plane lost power around two minutes into the flight.
A fire then developed and the aircraft descended before ultimately crashing.
The pilot, 60-year-old Brian Coughlin, was killed during the accident.
The NTSB says it may take a year for the final report to be released.
