The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Westport Tuesday during Isaias.
The NWS says an EF1 tornado touched down around 1:40 p.m. with estimated maximum wind speed of 95-105 mph. The tornado had a maximum path width of 25 yards and a path length of 50 yards.
The tornado ripped the roof off a house on Surf Road, according to the weather service.
No fatalities or injuries were reported.
Officials say they are perplexed with the lack of communication from Eversource as 400,000 residents in Connecticut are still without power. They say the response is delaying work crews.
Eversource says they have 2,000 crews working to restore power but local leaders still say the utility's response has been "woefully inadequate."
Officials Friday fielded questions about potential penalties for utility companies. Gov. Ned Lamont says there will be plenty of time for that once all the power is restored.
