A Bronx woman is facing charges for allegedly having marijuana shipped to a home in Southport.
Police say Joan Mitchell, 47, had the 24 pounds of drugs delivered to a home on Main Street where she worked as a nurse's aide for an elderly resident.
Officers say three packages were flagged as suspicious by FedEx at their shipping center in Norwalk. FedEx then notified police and their K-9 Ruger uncovered the contents of the packages.
Police followed the package to its destination and say they saw Mitchell receive the package.
Investigators say Mitchell's elderly client had no knowledge of the shipments. Mitchell is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 1.
