Bridgeport's police chief is being credited with helping make an arrest while he was off the clock.
Chief Joe Gaudett says he was walking downtown Thursday when he came across a Connecticut state marshal who was struggling to handcuff a suspect.
Gaudett says the suspect was not cooperating with the marshal so he stepped in to help.
Officials say the man was being arrested for failing to make family support payments.
