Officer who struck and killed beloved Stamford pastor was arrested by state police in connection to accident

Officer Lockwood was in a marked Stamford police vehicle when he crashed into Rev. Tommie Jackson on Wire Mill Road on July 26, 2023. Jackson had just gone to his mailbox across the street and was walking back to his house. Lockwood performed CPR on Jackson but he died due to his injures.

The Connecticut State Police arrested a Stamford officer who struck and killed beloved Stamford pastor last summer.
State police announced they had completed the investigation on officer Officer Zachary Lockwood.
Officer Lockwood was in a marked Stamford police vehicle when he crashed into Rev. Tommie Jackson on Wire Mill Road on July 26, 2023. Jackson had just gone to his mailbox across the street and was walking back to his house. Lockwood performed CPR on Jackson but he died due to his injures.
State police said they issued an arrest charging Officer Lockwood with misconduct with a motor vehicle, a class D felony.
Officer Lockwood surrendered himself to the Connecticut State Police Wednesday afternoon.
The Stamford Police Department said its Internal Affairs Unit will now begin an internal administrative investigation into the incident.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved with this tragic incident," said Police Chief Timothy Shaw in a press release.
