Two Stratford police officers pleaded not guilty Wednesday to misusing information from a job application filed by Mayor Jim Miron's brother.
According to the arrest warrant, Lt. Orlando Soto and Sgt. Joseph McNeil illegally obtained and disclosed confidential information about the police job application through the computer system without authorization.
McNeil's attorney, however, claims these charges were politically motivated.
Police officers from East Haven to Norwalk attended the hearing at the Bridgeport Superior Court to show their support for the defendants.
Soto and McNeil remain on paid administrative leave. They are due back in court in August.
