Officials ask community for donations after fire leaves 9 homeless
The Bridgeport community is rallying around the nine people left homeless after a vicious fire ripped through their home on Wilmont Avenue Monday evening.
City officials are asking residents to donate food, clothing and other necessities to the three families facing a long road ahead.
The families returned to their home Tuesday, seeing what they could salvage from the severely damaged homes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
