Shelton Animal Control says a dead dog was found Tuesday in a bag on the stairs leading up to Little Barn restaurant on Bridgeport Avenue.
They say the dog was a newly deceased French bulldog, mostly white with gray on the left side of his face.
Officials say the dog was not hit by a car and that a necropsy will determine the cause of death.
They are asking anyone who knows the owner of the dog to call animal control.
