State and local leaders are recognizing a Bridgeport teen for academic excellence and leadership in the community.
Dalond Bidonne, 17, is a Notre Dame Fairfield graduate who is heading off to RPI in New York to study computer science.
Bidonne says his passion is fighting for social justice because too many people are treated unfairly.
"That should not be happening if we are all created equal. You know, we all share the same blood, so it shouldn't be that hard for us to all see each other as equal," he says.
Bidonne is a graduate of the Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Academy, which organized the ceremony.
"Dalond is one of my students here from eighth grade so he's been a lifelong member off our program, and we're really honored and proud of him, of his accomplishments and his achievements," says Don Wilson, with Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse Sports Academy.
