Officials said Monday that Sandy Hook Elementary School will remain a crime scene indefinitely.
The home of the alleged gunman, Adam Lanza, and his mother, Nancy, will also remain a crime scene.
State police said they have hundreds of investigators working around the clock on the school shooting since Friday.
Officials reported that they even have search warrants and are analyzing every piece of evidence related to the shooting.
In the meantime, Chalk Hill Elementary School in nearby Monroe will be used for students of Sandy Hook Elementary School, police announced today.
The Chalk Hill school was mothballed and has not been in use because of a dip in the local population. Local contractors are volunteering their time to prepare the school for the displaced Newtown students.
