United Technologies says Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft will have a new owner by Friday.
Executives say they have received all the regulatory approvals to sell the company to Lockheed Martin.
The deal is valued at $9 billion.
No word yet on what impact the sale will have on the roughly 8,000 employees currently working for the company in Connecticut.
