A Milford man apparently committed suicide after an incident which sent three local schools on lockdown and closed Eisenhower Park all afternoon.
Police say the unidentified man's mother called them Tuesday morning to say he had left the house armed and was threatening to hurt himself.
They tracked him to Eisenhower Park, which police evacuated as they set up a perimeter.
As a precaution, Matthewson School, Orange Avenue School and Platt Technical were placed on temporary lockdown.  All schools were dismissed at normal times, but with police a police presence.
Police say when they found the man, he had shot himself.
Police say a "different agency" went to speak with the man Tuesday morning about his alleged involvement in some type of white collar crime.
Authorities say the man had no previous run-ins with them.
