One of the longest operating museums in the United States is located right in Hartford, Connecticut.
Wadsworth Atheneum opened its doors in 1844, and now currently has over 50,000 pieces in its collection.
Located in downtown Hartford, Wadsworth Atheneum features works from America in the early colonial days until the 21st century.
European paintings and sculptures are also on display inside the 60,000-foot space.
One notable collection is the 'Made in Connecticut' exhibition, which features works from 22 art museums and historic sites that make up the Connecticut art trail.
