Some good news for Optimum customers – your favorite shows and local news on PIX-11 are back on the cable TV lineup.
Optimum and Nexstar, the company negotiating on behalf of PIX-11 and NewsNation, reached an agreement late Friday night.
The new deal immediately returned local news, sports and entertainment programming to about 2 million Optimum viewers.
The cable provider is also in negotiations with MSG Networks, which has Optimum viewers unable to watch some New York-area sports. Optimum says that the sports network refuses to engage in meaningful negotiations, instead forcing viewers onto MSG’s $30 a month Gotham Sports app.
Throughout its negotiations with Nexstar, Optimum said they were fighting unreasonable demands to raise consumer prices, and they are "proud to continue their track record of partnering with programmers who put customers at the center."
Optimum is the sister company of News 12.
