The town fairgrounds in Orange will host the annual Volunteer Firemen's carnival this weekend.

Officials say the Orange Firemen's Carnival helps the town's volunteer fire department. They say all the proceeds from the carnival will go directly to the department. 

Don Foyer, the carnival chairman and town volunteer firefighter, says the department is supported almost entirely by fundraisers they hold throughout the year. 

Officials say the money will be used to buy gear and apparatus and that this event is a fun way to support a crucial service. They say the funds from the Orange Firemen's Carnival make up a third of their budget.

One volunteer says they're in need of a truck engine, which could cost up to $800,000.

Many people are expected to attend the Orange Firemen's Carnival to enjoy its rides, games and views. The carnival will continue until Sunday.
