More than 3,500 miles away from Paris, the City of Bridgeport is holding its own version of the Summer Olympic Games.
On Tuesday, nearly 500 children from different Bridgeport schools and summer camps competed in games at Puglio Park.
Don Wilson, executive director of Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse, says the inaugural Park City Olympic Games were all about exposing kids to new sports and opportunities.
“This is the goal of our organization,” Wilson says. “Our mission is to expose kids to what they love and tap into their creativity and find some joy in sports and in healthy lifestyle living."
Organizers say they’re hoping to make the event a lasting tradition.
