A Stamford day care center says it will close next week, leaving parents scrambling to find alternative child care.
The Children's Corner Learning Center announced it will shut down permanently on Nov. 30 in an email to parents Monday afternoon, giving them less than two weeks' notice.
The email did not give a reason, but called the situation unexpected and unavoidable.
The center is offering parents a discount at its Norwalk or Westchester County locations, but at least one Stamford dad says those locations are inconvenient for his family.
"I understand places need to close down," Ryan Olivera says. "It does happen. But the fact they're giving us 10 days' notice, so abruptly, certainly, is not a good feeling."
The search for a replacement day care hasn't been easy, he says. He looked at one Tuesday morning, but it didn't have enough room for both of his children.
The company's management did not immediately respond to a News 12 request for comment.
