Some parents in Orange are calling for the suspension of a fifth-grade student after he allegedly authored a ?hate list.?
District officials announced last week a Race Brook Elementary student posted a list online detailing kids he hates and others he wishes were dead. Approximately 15 parents met with Orange Schools Superintendent Tim James Monday about the situation. Many want the student removed, calling it an issue of safety.
James notified parents of all fifth-graders and the parents of the students on the list. However, some parents claim they learned of the list from the news media first.
There is no word on how long it will take the district to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, Race Brook parents say they plan to bring their concerns to a PTA meeting Tuesday night.
