The Paws Shelter in Norwalk is hosting a special adoption event this weekend to encourage the adoption of older cats.
Shelter Director Michele Rinaldi says people are always interested in adopting kittens, while older cats are often overlooked and left behind. The shelter currently has more than 100 adult and senior cats. She says that is the motivation for their "$9 Dollars for 9 Lives" event.
Any cat older than 9 months will be available to adopt for only $9, instead of the normal adoption fee of $100.
The sale event begins Saturday, June 14, and runs through June 22. All of the cats have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on their vaccinations.
